Vice President- Travel Insurance – Dubai | Financial Services| Orient Insurance PJSC

Job description

  • Drive new business acquisition by forging partnerships with travel agents and insurance brokers.
  • Collaborate with direct branch office business development managers to identify and secure new opportunities.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and satisfaction.
  • Identify and onboard new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Distribution & Channel Management

  • Develop and implement strategies for building and managing robust distribution channels, including travel agents, brokers, affinity relationships and alternate channels.
  • Drive efficiency and performance across all distribution networks to maximize business opportunities.

Policy Underwriting and Issuance

  • Oversee underwriting processes for travel insurance policies, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end policy issuance process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Reinsurance Management

  • Handle reinsurance arrangements to mitigate risks and optimize portfolio performance.
  • Coordinate and oversee reinsurance bordereaux preparation and submission.

Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Develop and execute strategies for introducing innovative travel insurance products to meet evolving market needs.
  • Monitor operational performance, ensuring streamlined processes and service excellence.
  • Set and track key performance metrics to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor and assess key performance metrics to ensure targets are met.

What equips you for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CII, LOMA) is highly advantageous.
  • 15+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on Travel /General Insurance.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and growing Insurance portfolios.
  • Expertise in sales & marketing, team management, underwriting, reinsurance and regulatory requirements.
