Responsibilities
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Commit to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
- Collaborate with parents to ensure the happiness and academic success of all students.
- Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.
- Teaching and Learning
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum.
- Organize classroom provisions, learning resources, and create displays to foster a positive learning environment.
- Plan, prepare, and present lessons tailored to meet the needs of all ability levels in the class.
- Motivate students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
- Observe and assess students in line with school policies.
- Reflect on classroom provision, teaching sessions, and student progress, making necessary adjustments to the environment, planning, and curriculum.
- Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.
- Ensure that the school’s Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are embedded in the curriculum.
Assessment and Data
- Take responsibility for the academic progress of a class.
- Meet assessment and recording requirements using Target Tracker.
- Use assessment data to inform planning, provision, and intervention.
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour Management and Duties
- Follow the school’s behaviour policy.
- Manage classes effectively to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Maintain positive relationships with students and act decisively within the school’s behavioural framework.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating expected attitudes, values, and behaviour.
- Promote high expectations of behaviour, fostering self-control and independence in learners.
- Carry out duties as directed within the school’s policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in curriculum action groups, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
- Support and take part in school events, outings, and activities, including those on weekends or evenings.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievements and well-being using school systems (e.g., CPOMS) as appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
-  A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 2 year’s teaching experience in English National Curriculum
