As a Staff Nurse in the Surgical Clinic, you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include pre-operative assessments, monitoring patients during surgery, and post-operative care. You will be expected to collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering medications, managing wound care, and educating patients and their families on post-operative protocols. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential for success in this role. A valid nursing license and experience in surgical settings are typically required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and provide nursing care in a surgical clinic setting.
  • Assist surgeons during minor procedures and ensure proper surgical asepsis.
  • Monitor patients post-operation and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards in the surgical clinic.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
  • Stay updated on latest developments in surgical nursing practices and technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification
  • Clinical experience in a surgical setting preferred
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
