Job Description
Canadian Specialist Hospital is seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech Therapist (Part-time), preferably an Arabic speaker, to join our team. The ideal candidate must hold a valid DHA License and possess strong communication skills to work effectively with diverse patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments.
- Diagnose disorders related to speech, language, voice, and swallowing.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
- Provide therapy for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Implement various therapeutic techniques to improve patients’ communication abilities.
- Counsel patients and families about communication and swallowing disorders.
- Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve communication skills.
- Monitor and document patients’ progress during therapy sessions.
- Modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal results.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in case conferences and meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining patient progress and future treatment plans.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers about the nature of communication disorders.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and collaborate with community resources to support long-term improvement.
- Ensure all treatment methods are in accordance with established medical protocols and ethical standards.
- Adhere to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) guidelines and hospital policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
- Valid DHA License as a Speech Therapist.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred, with strong communication skills in English.
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques related to speech and language disorders.
