Job Description

Canadian Specialist Hospital is seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech Therapist (Part-time), preferably an Arabic speaker, to join our team. The ideal candidate must hold a valid DHA License and possess strong communication skills to work effectively with diverse patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments.
  • Diagnose disorders related to speech, language, voice, and swallowing.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
  • Provide therapy for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Implement various therapeutic techniques to improve patients’ communication abilities.
  • Counsel patients and families about communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve communication skills.
  • Monitor and document patients’ progress during therapy sessions.
  • Modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal results.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in case conferences and meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining patient progress and future treatment plans.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers about the nature of communication disorders.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and collaborate with community resources to support long-term improvement.
  • Ensure all treatment methods are in accordance with established medical protocols and ethical standards.
  • Adhere to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) guidelines and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
  • Valid DHA License as a Speech Therapist.
  • Fluency in Arabic is preferred, with strong communication skills in English.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques related to speech and language disorders.
