Job Description
Oversees all administrative support for the Pharmacy Department’s management and services.
Responsibilities
- Promotes a safe working environment.
- Upholds ethical practices and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Provides reception support for the Pharmacy Department.
- Supports transcription, filing, report distribution, etc.
- Maintains general office supplies.
- Participates in Pharmacy Quality Improvements (QI) activities.
- Assists with follow-up of incidents/accidents and patient and staff complaints.
- Engages in the Pharmacy Department’s activities.
- Participates regularly in continuing education activities.
- Liaises with internal and external Pharmacy clients as required.
- Maintains open lines of communication with the Director of Pharmacy, colleagues, and other hospital services as needed.
- Responds to inquiries from the Pharmacy Department.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field preferred
- Secretarial or Administrative certificate preferred
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) of experience in administrative and secretarial positions with hospital information system experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computer applications with word processing packages (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and email systems).
- Knowledge of medical/pharmacy terminologies.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
