Senior Administrative Coordinator – Pharmacy

Job Description

Oversees all administrative support for the Pharmacy Department’s management and services.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe working environment.
  • Upholds ethical practices and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Provides reception support for the Pharmacy Department.
  • Supports transcription, filing, report distribution, etc.
  • Maintains general office supplies.
  • Participates in Pharmacy Quality Improvements (QI) activities.
  • Assists with follow-up of incidents/accidents and patient and staff complaints.
  • Engages in the Pharmacy Department’s activities.
  • Participates regularly in continuing education activities.
  • Liaises with internal and external Pharmacy clients as required.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with the Director of Pharmacy, colleagues, and other hospital services as needed.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Pharmacy Department.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field preferred
  • Secretarial or Administrative certificate preferred

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) of experience in administrative and secretarial positions with hospital information system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer applications with word processing packages (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and email systems).
  • Knowledge of medical/pharmacy terminologies.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
