The Registered Nurse – Operation Theatre will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They will collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the provision of safe and efficient care. Additionally, they will monitor patients during surgery, assist with surgical preparations, and provide post-operative care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operation theatre for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical equipment and instruments.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and anesthesia during surgery.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed.
- Assist with patient positioning and provide comfort measures during surgery.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-operative assessments and education.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide post-operative care, monitoring patients for complications and facilitating their recovery.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license.
- Previous experience in operation theatre nursing.
- Proficient in sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.
