The Registered Nurse in the Operating Theater is responsible for providing nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They will assist the surgical team before, during, and after surgeries, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment. The Registered Nurse will also provide patient education and support during the perioperative period.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the surgical team to plan and prepare for surgical procedures.
- Assist in the positioning and draping of patients for surgery.
- Monitor patient vital signs and ensure their stability during surgery.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the surgeon.
- Monitor and maintain sterile conditions in the operating theater.
- Assist the surgical team in controlling bleeding and maintaining hemostasis.
- Document surgical procedures, patient responses, and intraoperative care.
- Provide post-operative care to patients, including pain management and wound care.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Valid nursing license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating theater setting.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
