THE ROLE

Our Primary department has transformed student outcomes and succeeded in inspiring a love for learning at GEMS World Academy, through the dedication of staff, their exceptional subject knowledge, and the department’s forward-thinking approach to data and the curriculum. The Primary department is highly regarded among our student body for the care and personal support offered to students. We are now looking for innovative PYP EAL Teacher to join this successful team.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience teaching in a PYP setting. Genuine alignment with the philosophy of the IB and the values embodied in the Learner Profile are essential, as is a passion for teaching. In addition, we seek a candidate with:

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Primary. Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Primary School teacher. 
• A strong understanding of the IB PYP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• A strong desire to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students
• The experience, personality and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
