The Paediatric Dental Nurse assists dentists in providing oral healthcare to children. They will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize dental instruments, and educate patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene practices. This role requires compassion, patience, and the ability to work effectively with children.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures.
- Assist dentists during examinations, cleanings, and dental treatments.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Educate patients and their parents on oral hygiene practices, diet, and preventive dental care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Assist with dental office administrative tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or diploma in dental nursing.
- Experience working in a pediatric dental setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
