Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice nurses who provide primary and specialty healthcare services. They assess and diagnose patients, prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient education and counseling. Nurse Practitioners may work independently or collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
  • Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Prescribing medications and treatments based on patient needs.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Providing preventive care and health promotion counseling.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop care plans.
  • Educating patients and their families about medical conditions and self-care.
  • Performing procedures and minor surgeries within their scope of practice.
  • Documenting patient encounters and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Participating in quality improvement and research activities.
  • Master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in nurse practitioner.
  • Valid state license as a nurse practitioner.
  • Certification from a recognized nurse practitioner organization.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
