Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, stackers, and other related machinery.
- Load, unload, move, and stack materials in the correct storage locations.
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory control by ensuring accurate counts of incoming and outgoing goods.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate.
- Record movement of goods in the inventory system.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the equipment to ensure it’s in good working condition.
- Report any defects or issues with equipment to supervisors immediately.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA or other relevant safety standards.
- Loading/Unloading:
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, ensuring that all products are stored safely and efficiently.
- Use material handling equipment to move products to designated areas.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the warehouse team, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient and timely material flow.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflows.
- Documentation:
- Complete all necessary documentation, including inventory logs, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
Qualifications:
- Education:Â High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:Â Previous experience operating MHE such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other related equipment is preferred.
- Certifications:Â Valid MHE operator certification (e.g., forklift certification) as required by local regulations.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling techniques.
- Ability to operate MHE safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for inventory management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50-75 lbs) safely.
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate MHE for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
