Job Description

Your new role, what’s involved?

  • Assist in conducting inspections of structural elements, including foundations, concrete structures, steel frameworks, walls, and roofs, under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Learn to verify compliance with design drawings, specifications, and building codes by reviewing construction activities and materials.
  • Support the monitoring of construction quality, ensuring workmanship, materials, and construction techniques align with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify and document any deviations or non-compliance in construction work, reporting findings to senior engineers and assisting in recommending corrective actions.
  • Participate in the preparation of inspection reports, documenting findings, observations, and recommendations while learning best practices for report writing.
  • Maintain records of inspections, including photographs, checklists, and other relevant documentation, to support quality control processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, architects, and contractors, gaining exposure to coordination and communication in a construction environment.
  • Observe and learn about construction-related problem-solving, including identifying risks and contributing to practical solutions.
  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing safety protocols and regulations on-site while learning about occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Stay updated on construction practices, building codes, and industry regulations, applying new knowledge to support project supervision activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by learning about inspection methodologies and helping refine quality assurance processes.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in construction inspection or a related role is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural elements, building construction techniques, and relevant codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail to identify and assess construction deficiencies, deviations, and non-compliance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey inspection findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
