The successful candidate will have a passion for sport and physical education, having competed at a significant level in one or more focus areas and have a proven track record in the development of multiple sports within previous roles. The Director of Sports will be responsible for the growth and development of a team of 12 coaching and teaching staff and should be comfortable managing a significant portfolio of assignments alongside their reduced teaching load. The main responsibilities will include:
– To increase the participation and performance levels of students in sport and physical recreation;
– To direct and manage the school sport and physical recreation programmes by effectively providing highly skilled Leadership, administration, communication, and resource management;
– To model and promote the school values and learning ethos;
– To contribute to the review and development of school policy and practices;
– To maximise revenue on facility hire relevant to sport;
– To ensure the quality of external provision to support sports development outside of school hours;
– To provide oversight of the curriculum provision for students across both divisions from EYFS to Year 13;
– To oversee and execute the sport and physical recreation action plan designed to promote the experiences of a healthy lifestyle and positive well-being.
